Chocolate Stout Cupcake
You know when you have those moments of OMG, we’re less than seven degrees connected? That’s how this cupcake came about!
LONG story short: A client who doesn’t live in the area found me and asked for a cupcake to celebrate her father’s birthday. In chatting, I learned she grew up on my street, and her parent’s own a small brewery - also on my street. I also learned she was an alum of the college my daughter attends - the exact same alum who reached out to my daughter during the whole college process years ago!! Freakishly small world in which we live.
But when I learned she was the daughter of the brewery on my street -the same street on which she spent her childhood - I knew this cupcake needed to come into existence! Shopping local took on a whole new meaning…like shop 8 houses down!
And another Boozy Bake came into being!!
In her “traditional” form, she is a Chocolate Stout Cupcake made with Woodman’s Brewery Ashlee’s Oatmeal Stout, adorned with Chocolate Stout Frosting, that’s then topped with flaky sea salt and shaved bittersweet chocolate. And to top it all off, you gotta have that shot of cold Ashlee’s Oatmeal Stout beer!!
In a different form (which is what the client actually requested), she is a Chocolate Stout Cupcake made with Woodman’s Brewery Ashlee’s Oatmeal Stout, crowned with Vanilla Custard Cream Cheese Frosting and chocolate curls. And DO NOT forget the injector of cold beer!
This cupcake is as delicious as it is decadent!! The stout cupcake is dense, chocolaty, malty, and moist!
Either frosting is ridiculously delicious - it’s all a matter of flavor preference: The Chocolate Stout Frosting is smooth, malty, and deeply chocolaty; and the Vanilla Custard Cream Cheese Frosting is unlike ANY cream cheese frosting you’ve ever tasted! No cloying sweetness here; rather, mild, slightly tangy, insanely velvety, creamy frosting dense with vanilla beans. This frosting is a multi-step process that starts with making a vanilla custard and then turning it into velvety cream cheese frosting… [drool]
One batch is 12 cupcakes. Price starts at $3.50/cupcake and goes up with variants.
Allergens: wheat, milk, eggs
Pickup or delivery only.
